MAHZULFAH UPPAL

Mahzulfah Uppal graduated from University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Thereafter, Mahzulfah attended the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law from the years 1991 through 1994 when she graduated with her Bachelors of Laws degree. In her third year attending Law School at the University of Windsor, Mahzulfah also provided assistance to the University of Windsor's Legal Aid Clinic. She assisted the residence of Windsor and Essex County in areas such as social assistance, appeals, landlord and tenant issues and immigration law matters.

Following her graduation from the University of Windsor, Mahzulfah was employed with Legal Aid in Winnipeg, Manitoba from the years 1994 through to July 1995. During that period of time, Mahzulfah did legal work in the areas of family law, young offenders, criminal law, landlord and tenant law, and employment insurance appeals, social assistance review board appeals, and community outreach programs.

Following that, Mahzulfah returned to Ontario and was employed with the Province of Ontario, Ministry of the Attorney General Office. In particular, she worked for the Family Support Plan as it was known then, now known as the Family Responsibility Office. Mahzulfah articled with this unit and assisted in the enforcement of child and spousal support arrears, and ongoing support.

Upon her call to the Bar, Mahzulfah opened her practice in March of 1997 and was self-employed until December 2002. Mahzulfah's primary area of practice was family law and she specialized in the collection of child and family support Orders. In this regard, she was employed with the Family Responsibility Office for that purpose on a contract basis.

In January 2004, Mahzulfah was employed by the law firm of Prouse Dash & Crouch LLP and is practicing strictly in the area of family law for the firm.
